Do not come here if your not hungry and ready to put down some food. I'm not the sort to write reviews. But, I had the best chicken and dumplings of my life today. Then they bring a bowl of mashed potatoes and green beans that I could have ate on for a week. I showed up right at the shift from breakfast to lunch so I ordered bacon too.... It was like 6 or 8 peices.... my eyes, taste buds, and stomach are In Overload... if I am ever back In Hot Springs I will be back... I saw the size of the flap jacks being passed around and I laughed because they offer all you can eat breakfast. PHIL YOU ARE TOO MUCH SIR. WELL DONE!

Jan Pillard Three of us had their lunch special today...meatloaf, 2 sides, yeast rolls. $5.99 Huge servings, excellent flavor, great service, cozy atmosphere. I'll be going back and I recommend it to everyone !!
Megan Stephens This place is deceiving. It looks like a plain boring restaurant from the front. But it is the cutest, coziest, warm little place. Me and my daughter went for breakfast while on our trip during Christmas time so it was very festive and vintage. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was great! Very grandma's kitchen type of food which is what everyone wants in the morning. And to top it off, me and my 8 year old daughter ate for less than $15 (without tip) and we were stuffed. We will defiantly come back and would recommend this to anyone in the area!
Kyle Nugent Great and prompt professional service. Great homecooking. Larger than normal portion sizes. I will now come here instead of going to other places. This breakfast looks amazing
Laura James is feeling satisfied with Jon James at Phil's Family Restaurant. Hot Springs via - Facebook If you want Amazing Service & Damn Good Home Cooking for a Great Price, go to Phil's Restaurant! Hot Cakes nearly big as the plate with huge fresh blueberries & Sausage Gravy that puts Grandmas to Shame! We each ordered the Double Breakfast Plates for 5 bucks & change, plus $.99 for fresh Blueberries, added a side of Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, and a Sweet Tea/Water to drink. All came out to $20.99 after Tax. We left with nearly 3 more meals with free to go butter & syrup! Phil's is a true Gem hidden in plain sight!
Teresa W.Carthage, TX via Yelp Wow! Food was very good, exceptionally reasonable, and huge portions. Hubby had the meatloaf with a side of Cole slaw and potato salad. Cole slaw was a bit tangy/lemony (maybe) for his liking, but you could tell everything was made from scratch... or so it tasted. I had the liver and grilled onions with mashed potatoes, smothered in brown gravy with a side of turnip greens. Wow! The sides actually come in bowls the size of small cereal bowls! Loved the quaint atmosphere and admired the antiques and collectibles which literally covered every wall! The tea was served in large mason jars, had an amazing rich flavor and service was very good. The place was packed soon after we arrived. Too bad we didn't have room for desert.
Aggie from Hot Springs via Messenger: My husband and I are new to Hot Springs and had seen reviews for your wonderful restaurant. We had lunch there about 3 weeks ago and we're so impressed. Food was amazing, service delightful and we loved the decor. We will be back very soon.
Paula Chase Bettis reviewed Phil's Family Restaurant My daughter and I were looking for some breakfast so we went to Phil's! I had the single special but goodness, did I get a lot of food! My daughter had a breakfast sandwich with a perfect sunny side up egg and sausage. She also ordered hash browns which were crisp and plentiful! We had coffee...which was refilled often...It was a wonderful start to a very busy day!
Danielle Trathen Young reviewed Phil's Family Restaurant Went there this morning for breakfast with my family, so incredible !! The food was flavorful and the portions huge !! We really enjoyed it and our server Paul was just fantastic. Paul made sure we were completely taken care of and he was so very busy, never missing a beat. If you want great food and service this is the place to go.
Danielle Brown is at Phil's Family Restaurant. If you love food, let me point you toward our new favorite in Hot Springs! It is in a little yellow house across from Oaklawn on Central- Phil's Family Restaurant. We stumbled across it last week when Googling places to eat near downtown. We had the grilled tilapia with potato salad and pinto beans. Big portions. Fish was awesome too! Mich proclaimed the potato salad to be the best he's had. Tonight I had black eyed peas and they were just right! Place will remind you of your grandmother's house and the food is right up there close!
ConwayCat via TripAdvisor “Stupendous Portions, Quality and Service” Had an amazing Easter Lunch with traditional fixings of ham, chicken and dressing, etc. went back form breakfast a week later. Had the "simple" breakfast of one egg, two pieces of bacon and one hot cake. Who knew this would be a stupendous amount of food. Quality was excellent. My one scrambled egg looked like it was two, maybe three. Cooked perfectly in the French style of being soft and creamy. My two pieces of bacon were three, cooked perfectly, mostly crispy with a slight amount of "chew." The hot cake was the size of a dinner plate. I ordered and extra side of strawberries. I expected it to be frozen sauce but they were fresh berries in a little sauce and fresh, real whipped cream. The syrup served with it was served in a warm container, a very nice touch. Paul served us both times with excellent, attentive service. Will be back soon!
William Harrison I think you can tell a lot about the people behind a business by looking at its model. Phils family dining not only provides a service to its customers but to the community as a whole. It is an inclusive environment that allows a breadth in its menu to cater to both high dollar track patrons or us that might be a little more kingly in our pockets rather than crispy. Thank you so much to the owners and management as well as the staff for............ CARING!
Tammy J from Tennessee “What a great find!” Interesting quirky atmosphere, huge portions, excellent service, delicious food! I had hamburger steak with the best grilled onions ever. My dad had an excellent burger with awesome crinkle fries. Couldn't be better!
