My family and I made a brief stop in Hot Springs. It was late morning and we were in the mood for a big breakfast. Phils delivered, and then some! Omelet must have been made from at least 6 eggs! Huge portions. Beware, if you aren't that hungry. The biscuits and gravy were perfect and delicious! My son had hot cakes (pancakes). The short stack was the size of a cake! One would have been enough. He said they were "awesome". Clean and friendly. Highly recommend!
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our way home from Hot Springs. When we pulled up, we noticed a house with bunch if cars in the parking lot. In our experience, this means we're at the right place. There wasnt as many people inside as the cars made it looked so we were seated right away. The waiter was extremely nice. I got a strawberry pancake and only ate half of it. Its as big as the plate and thick. Coffee was good. My husband got biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon. He said they were really good. The restaurant felt like we were at grandmas house. Good home cooking and friendly service. We will be back anytime we are in Hot Springs.
“Breakfast is excellent.” First time at Phil's... it's directly across from the main parking lot of Oaklawn. Lot's of options for breakfast, and it all starts with the pancakes... hell, there's no pan to it. It's a cake. Covers an entire plate, and it's a good 1/4-38" thick. I ate less than half, and I was hungry. Hash brown order was equally as huge, covering half of a dinner plate. Perfectly cooked, with a crisp bottom and steamed inside. Lunch menu looked even better with all the home-cooked options. I'll be back to eat at Phil's on my next visit. Visited February 2017
"Best lunch in town" We go to Oaklawn every year. Being in the business, we look for the local places. This is about as good as it gets. Breakfast is great, huge pancakes- can't eat two. But lunch is also great. I want liver and onions just a couple times a year. I may never order it anywhere else again. Tender, cooked perfectly, mashed potatoes and beans. Had enough for two. Go, I don't kid about liver and onions.
