We found Phil's by driving past in the evening about 7:30 pm. We were tired, sort of despondent at finding Hot Springs wasn't giving us much in the way of "good vibes" like at least I had expected. My wife wasn't so sure we should go out of our way to visit there in the first place.
Anyway, we found Phil's. The waiter was very professional and simply a joy to have found. Phil's place is a little old house turned into a restaurant, decorated with a selection of old collectibles. Very clean! The food was very good and served in huge quantities that we could not come close to eating. A shame to waste such excellent cooking when we couldn't take advantage of a doggy bag.
Having enjoyed our supper, we returned for breakfast before leaving Hot Springs. Once again the amount was way more than one person should be eating at one meal. If you order pancakes, order only 1. They are very large, thick and very filling.
Once again we were more than satisfied, even though the amount of food could have fed a small village somewhere.
They definitely give you a lot of food so consider splitting a meal if you go as a couple. My husband and I had the build your own omelet. It definitely was large enough for the two of us. It was very good along with the huge pancake we ordered. Definitely recommend for a good breakfast.
